Abstract

The proposed project would replace the existing two lane bridge on Atlanta Road over the Chattahoochee River with a 4-lane bridge new structure built on an offset alignment immediately to the west. Traffic would be maintained on the existing roadway and bridge while the two southbound lanes are constructed west of the existing alignment. Traffic would then be shifted to the newly constructed southbound lanes, the existing bridge would be demolished and the two northbound lanes would be constructed. The total length of the proposed project would be approximately 3,170 feet (0.6 mile). The existing 2-lane bridge has a sufficiency rating of 52.4. The bridge is 572 feet long and 39 feet wide. The proposed bridge would be approximately 600 feet long and 90 feet wide. The current right-of-way varies from 200 to 250 feet wide and the proposed right-of-way would be 250 feet. There were negative findings.
