Abstract

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of the proposed widening and realignment of 12.75 (7.9 mi) length of Friendship Road (SR 347) in southern Hall County. Some portions of the realigned road will coincide with existing SR 347, but in other places it will be offset by up to approximately 487 m (1600 ft). The new alignment will arc to the north of SR 347 at the eastern end to meet SR 211 at 150 ft north of the Gwinnett County line. Survey within the proposed project area located thirteen archaeological sites, representing seven unidentified (UID) prehistoric components, one Early Woodland component, six early twentieth century components, and one late nineteenth/early twentieth century component.
