Abstract

This report presents an archeological reassessment of project BRS-0679(7) in Pulaski County. This proposed project was originally surveyed by GDOT archeologists with concurrence received in 1997. The project consists of the replacement of a structurally deficient bridge on SR 230 over Big (Tucsawhatchee) Creek. The original project remains the same except for the following: 2m (6.56') of new right-of-way is required from STA 20+700 to STA 20+870; temporary driveway easements (20' to 50' in size) are located at various points within the project corridor. Total project length remains the same at 0.956 mile. No existing or eligible National Register resources were located within the project's area of potential environmental effect. It is concluded, therefore, that the project will have no effect upon archeological resources on or eligible for inclusion in the NRHP provided that the project conforms to that described above.
