Abstract

The survey reported here was designed to locate archeological sites in the areas of potential effect for the proposed replacement of a bridge over Little Chickamauga Creek on Colbert Hollow Road in the southern portion of Catoosa County. Archival research conducted at the Georgia Archaeological Site Files revealed that no sites had previously been reported in the vicinity. The field survey located one prehistoric lithic scatter (9CT90) at the west end of the project area. Due to poor preservation and low research potential, we recommend that it is ineligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Replacing the existing bridge will not affect any significant archeological sites.
