Abstract

This GDOT archaeological report short form for negative findings, Addendum to the Archaeological Survey for the Proposed Replacement of the SR 126 Bridge over Little Creek, Wheeler County, Georgia conducted by Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. Original Project Description: The proposed project would replace the existing bridge over Little Creek with a new bridge approximately 200 feet long by 44 feet wide on existing alignment. The bridge would contain two 12-foot wide travel lanes with 10-foot wide shoulders. The roadway approaches would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot shoulders, two feet of which would be paved. No additional right-of-way would be acquired. Traffic would be maintained on a temporary on-site detour bridge to be constructed within a temporary construction easement to the north of the existing alignment with a maximum centerline-to-centerline offset of approximately 60 feet. The temporary bridge would be 200 feet long and 28 feet wide. Once the proposed structure and approaches are complete, the temporary bridge and associated fill material would be removed. Revised Project Description: The project length has increased by 100 feet on the west end of the project; therefore, the project length has increased from 1,900 feet to 2,000 feet (0.38 mile). The proposed bridge width has decreased from 44 feet to 38 feet. The temporary bridge has changed from 200 x 28 feet to 280 x 24 feet. There have been some slight changes in the cut and fill. Also, there are some slight increased in the amount of easement required for the detour. All construction easements are included.
