Abstract

This is a GDOT report short form Second Addendum to Archeological Survey for the Proposed Replacement of the SR 81 Bridge over the Alcovy River, Walton County, Georgia. Description in last CE: The proposed bridge would be approximately 44 ft wide and 240 ft long and contain two 12-ft travel lanes and 10-ft shoulders. The shoulders would include 6.5-ft bike lanes. Bridge dimensions have changed from the concept report due to engineering design refinements. The bridge would be constructed on new alignment approximately 70 ft centerline to centerline south of the existing bridge. The roadway approach would consist of two 120 ft travel lanes with 10-ft shoulders. The shoulders would consist of 6.5-ft paved bike lanes and 3.5-ft grass. The proposed ROW would vary from 110-290 ft, requiring an additional 30-90 ft. Approximately 1.9 acres of temporary easement would be required for construction of 4 sediment basins. During construction, traffic would be maintained on the existing bridge. After completion of the new bridge, the existing bridge would be removed. Work on the Riverglen Rd. and Jack Pittman Rd. would lower the vertical profile of each road to align their intersection with the vertical elevation of the new bridge approaches.
