Abstract

This is a GDOT archaeological report short form for negative findings for a Phase I Archaeological survey of Sandy Springs Circle Project Area. The proposed project would create pedestrian and bicycle facilities along Sandy Springs Circle between Cliftwood Drive and Roswell Road, and along Hammond Drive between Sandy Springs Circle and Roswell Road. The proposed facilities would consist of five to eight-foot wide concrete multi-use trails that would be constructed along both sides of Sandy Springs Circle and Hammond Drive. The proposed multi-use trails would be constructed approximately 12 to 15 feet from the existing roadway curbs, and would be constructed in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The proposed project length would be approximately 2.5 miles long. All work is anticipated to be undertaken within existing right-of-way, which varies along the project corridor. No shovel tests were excavated as the project area has been previously disturbed by road, driveway, parking lot, and sidewalk construction and by grading and landscaping.
