Abstract

The development will consist of 60 independent-living apartment homes. 

The community exterior will feature a mixture of brick and Cementous siding. Various energy-efficient systems will be utilized to increase building efficiency and lower energy costs and achieve a green building certification. The units will be equipped with a dishwasher, garbage disposal, range/oven, microwave, frost-free refrigerator/freezer, ceiling fans, and emergency call systems. The community will include on-site management, 24-hour maintenance (on-call after hours), community room, wellness center, community garden, and outdoor recreational spaces. The wellness center will offer services provided from the local health department such as screenings and health education. The community gardens will provide the residents opportunities to plant their own vegetables, fruit, and flowers. 

Additional training and cooking classes will be offered to the residents for increasing their ability to grow and prepare their own fresh foods.
