Abstract

The proposed project would improve the intersection of Chapel Hill Road at Central Church Road, Bomar Road and Chapel Hill Road at Willow Ridge Road in Douglas County. At the intersection of Chapel Hill Road and Willow Ridge Road, a new signal controller would be installed. In addition traffic signal interconnect cable would be installed between the intersections of Chapel Hill Road at Central Church Road/ Bomar Road and Chapel Hill Road at Willow Ridge Road. Chapel Hill Road is a two lane roadway with left turn lanes onto Central Church Road and Bomar Road and right turn lanes onto Willow Ridge Road and into the shopping center. Chapel Hill Road would be widened to accommodate a right turn lane onto Central Church Road. The northbound lane shift along Chapel Hill Road, north of Central Church Road and south of Willow Ridge Road, would be lengthened in order to meet design standards. The existing lane widths vary from 10 to 12 feet and the proposed lane widths would be 12 feet. The existing and proposed right-of-way ranges from 100 to 200 feet. The proposed project length along Chapel Hill Road is approximately 1,850 feet. Central Church Road is a two lane roadway with a right turn lane onto Chapel Hill Road. Central Church Road would be widened to accommodate the installation of a left turn lane onto Chapel Hill Road. The existing lane widths vary from 10 to 12 feet and the proposed lane widths would be 12 feet. The existing and proposed right-of-way would be approximately 100 feet. The proposed project length along Central Church Road is approximately 650 feet. Bomar Road is a two lane roadway with a right turn lane onto Chapel Hill Road. Bomar Road would be widened to accommodate the installation of a left turn lane onto Chapel Hill Road. The existing lane widths vary from 10 to 12 feet and the proposed lane widths would be 12 feet. The existing and proposed right-of-way would range from 60 to 150 feet. The proposed project is approximately 680 feet along Bomar Road.
