Abstract

This project is an addendum to the original project completed in 2000. The original survey covered all areas of the proposed 116/175 interchange improvements and was reported in Atz and Gardner (2000) - GDOT Project No's NH-IM-16-1(92), NH-IM-75-2(177), NH-IM-16-1(131), and NH-16-1(104), PI numbers 311000, 311005, 311400, and 311410. This is a revisit of the same project tract with a small addendum area of about 5 acres. Atz, Leiellen, and Jeffrey W. Gardner (2000) "Archaeological Survey for Proposed Reconstruction of the Interstate 16/Interstate 75 Interchange, Bibb County, Georgia", Brockington and Associates, Inc., Atlanta. The only area not covered by the original survey is a small extension on the southeast end of the study area which is linear and stretches for approximately 0.6 km (0.36 mi) and is less than 60 m (200 ft) in width. This linear area covers approximately 5 acres (2 ha) and follows both sides of an existing storm runoff waterway. The area of potential effect for the original project was sufficiently surveyed and reported in Atz and Gardner (2000).
