Abstract

Project CSMPL-0008-00(275), Chatham County, would widen and extend Gulfstream Road (CR 739) from the intersection of SR 21 to just beyond the entrance to the Gulfstream factory, a distance of approximately 1.25 miles. The proposed project would widen the existing two-lane roadway to a five-lane section with a two-way left turn lane. Gulfstream Road is located five miles north of Savannah, Georgia, and is less than one mile to the Savannah International Airport. The proposed five-lane section of roadway will be constructed on the same alignment as the existing roadway and is to be constructed while maintaining traffic by staging the construction. An off-site detour route will not be needed for this project. The right of way required along the project corridor is 75 feet on either side of the centerline along Gulfstream Road. The APE for the project includes everything within the proposed construction project length and within the maximum extent of the existing and required right-of-way as described above.
