Abstract

Archaeological Survey of the Thurmond Tanner (South Hall) Parkway, Hall County, Georgia Prime Consultant: Project Location and Area of Potential Effect: County(ies): Hall; USGS Quadrangle(s): 1964 Flowery Branch, GA and 1992 Chestnut Mountain, GA; Project Description: The proposed project would consist of construction of a roadway on new location between the intersection of S. R. 53 and Plainview Road (Figure 1). Total project length is approximately 1.2 km (0.75 mi). The proposed new facility would consist of four 9 m (29 ft) lanes and a 5 m (15 ft) raised median. The right-of-way would be (46 m) 150 ft. Area of Potential Effect: Because of the nature and scope of the undertaking, the area of potential direct effects consists of the project view shed and the proposed right-of-way of the proposed project, within which all construction and ground disturbing activity would be confined.
