Abstract

Archeological Survey of Proposed Improvements to the Intersection of Bicentennial Trail and US Highway 27/SR l. Walker County, Georgia: PROJECT LOCATION AND AREA OF POTENTIAL EFFECT: County(ies): Walker; USGS Quadrangle(s): Nickajack Gap Project Description: The project consists of constructing a right turn lane on Bicentennial Trail (CR 247) to facilitate traffic turning south onto US 27/SR 1. Area of Potential Effect: The area of potential effect consists of the existing right-of-way on US Highway 27/SR I for a distance of 450 ft south of the intersection with Bicentennial Trail and 420 ft to the north. It also includes the existing right-of-way of Bicentennial Trail for a distance of 460 ft west of the centerline of US Highway 27/SR 1. It also includes a tapering strip on the south side of Bicentennial Trail right-of-way that is about 50 ft wide at US Highway 27/SR I and 0 ft at 420 ft west of the centerline of US Highway 27/SR 1.
