Abstract

Original Project Description: The proposed project would consist of traffic signal upgrades at three intersections in the communities of Tallapoosa and Bremen within Haralson County, Georgia. The proposed project would improve the overall efficiency and safety of traffic flow due to upgraded traffic signal displays and state-of-the-art traffic signal control equipment, provide better signal coordination through new signal interconnection cable, and improve pedestrian safety with improved crosswalks, pedestrian signals and sidewalk ramps where appropriate at the following intersections: 1. SR 100 @ SR 120 in Tallapoosa; 2. SR 100 @ Taliaferro Street in Tallapoosa; 3. SR 1/US 27 @ SR 8/US 78 in Bremen Addendum project description: During the initial signal upgrade survey, all construction activities were to take place in the existing ROW of the selected intersections The project has since been redesigned and following intersections require right-of-way: 1. SR 100 at SR 120: a. ROW from SW quad 393.041 SF b. Temporary easement from NW quad 194.221 SF c. Temporary easement from NE quad 62.190 SF d. ROW from SE quad 170.815 SF 2. SR 100 at Taliaferro Signal: a. ROW from NE quad 258.196 SF b. Temporary easement from NW quad 55.796 SF c. ROW from SE quad 83.796 SF The Area of Potential Effect for the project includes everything within the proposed construction project length and within the maximum extent of the existing and required right-of-way as described above.
