Abstract

Second Addendum Project Description: The proposed project would construct an extension of East Lake Drive Springdale Road to SR 155. The proposed typical section of the new roadway would consist of 4 - 12 foot travel lanes (two in each direction) and a 20-foot raised median with 10 foot shoulders in 150 feet of required right-of-way. The project length would be approximately 2.42 miles. The proposed East Lake Drive Extension alignment would begin at Springdale Drive. From this point, the alignment would continue east for an approximate distance of 0.13 mile to its convergence with Wolf Creek Road. From this point, the proposed roadway would share a common alignment with Wolf Creek Road for an approximate distance of 0.23 mile. From this point, the alignment would shift to a new location segment which continues south of the Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority facility for a distance of approximately 0.08 mile. The proposed roadway would return to an easterly alignment for a distance of approximately 0.33 mile while running parallel to a maintained transmission-line easement. Then, the proposed roadway would cross the aforementioned transmission-line easement and English Road while continuing along a southerly alignment for a distance of approximately 0.63 mile. The proposed roadway would turn east and share a common alignment with Price Quarters Road to its intersection with SR 155. At the intersection of East Lake Road and SR 155, additional turning lanes will be added. The eastbound approach will have 2 thru-lanes, one left-turn lane, and one right-turn lane. The westbound approach will have one thru-lane, one left-turn lane, and one right-turn lane. The southbound approach will have one thru-lane, 2 left-turn lanes, and one right-turn lane. The northbound approach will have one thru-lane, two left-turn lanes, and one right-turn lane. The proposed roadway would continue on East Lake Road and terminate at the Union Grove High School entrance. East Lake Road is an existing 2-lane road to which one additional, right-turn lane would be added to the eastbound approach to the high school. The total right-of-way area is 30.52 acres. Easements are also included, which total 10.68 acres.
