Abstract

In March 1998, Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted a cultural resources survey of the Barrett Green Subdivision (South Tract), in Marietta, Georgia for Willoughby & Sewell Development, Ltd.. Proposed single family residential construction within the project tract necessitated this study, in order to comply with cultural resource management provisions of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations (33 CFR 320-330), implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (as amended, 1992). The Barrett Green Subdivision is being constructed under a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide permit; construction was in various stages of completion when this cultural resources study was conducted. Figure 1 is a plat of the entire subdivision tract. A cultural resources study of another portion of the overall development, Barrett Green (North-Unit II), was also conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc., and has been reported separately.
