Abstract

In November of 2006 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. conducted an archeological survey for the proposed 11 acre 230/25 kV Jackson Creek Substation in Rockdale County. The tract was entirely wooded so shovel testing was the primary survey method. Thirty-five shovel tests were excavated on the tract. Two archeological sites were recorded during the survey. Due to poor research potential neither site is significant. No additional archeological work should be required prior to substation construction.
