Abstract

The proposed project would begin approximately 260 feet west of the Storey Street and SR 15A/SR 82 intersection and would end approximately 180 feet east of Hunter Street on SR 15A, approximately 550 feet east of SR 15A on SR 82, and approximately 915 feet east of the SR 15A/SR 82 intersection on Peach Hill Drive in Jackson County, Georgia. The total project length would be approximately 0.69 mile. The selected alternative would reconstruct SR 15A/SR 82, Kissam Street, and Storey Street as a one-way pair. The northern terminus of Peach Hill Drive would be shifted approximately 370 feet to the north. The realigned section of Peach Hill Drive would require right-of-way varying between 80 feet and 95 feet in width. The Yintersection of SR 15A and SR 82 would be reconstructed from an existing Y-intersection to a perpendicular intersection with the realigned northern terminus of Peach Hill-Drive. To the south, Peach Hill Drive terminates into a T-intersection with Peach Hill Circle approximately 20 feet to the east of the Peach Hill Circle intersection with SR 15A/SR 82. A cul-de-sac would be constructed at the southern terminus of Peach Hill Drive approximately 410 feet north of Peach Hill Circle and approximately 250 feet east of SR 15A/SR 82. The existing pavement from the realigned or closed portions of Peach Hill Drive would be removed. The existing bridge on Kissam Street over Curry Creek would be shifted approximately 60 feet, centerline to centerline, east of the existing bridge alignment. The new bridge would be approximately 105 feet long and 44 feet wide to accommodate two 12-foot travel lanes with 10-foot shoulders. The project would consist of five different typical sections for SR 15A and SR 82.
