Abstract

The purpose of this revision is to address project design changes that have occurred subsequent to the signing of the categorical exclusion. These changes include the addition of sidewalks and the widening of shoulders from 8 feet to 10 or 12 feet; slight increases in project lengths along three of the four legs; and the acquisition of easements rather than right-of-way to accommodate the proposed improvements throughout most of the corridor. Specifically, sidewalks will be added on the west side of SR 61 for approximately 440 feet south of the intersection; sidewalks will be added to the west side of SR 61 for approximately 280 feet north of the intersection and to the east side of SR 61 for approximately 800 feet north of the intersection; sidewalks will be added to the north and south sides of Mulberry Rock Road (CR 215) for approximately 440 feet west of the intersection; and sidewalks will be added to the north side of Ridge Road (CR 472) for approximately 760 feet east of the intersection. The typical section with sidewalks will have a 12-foot shoulder consisting of a 2.5-foot curb and gutter, a 2-foot stamped concrete surface, a 5-foot sidewalk, and a 2.5-foot grassed surface. The typical section for all other locations within the proposed project will have a 10-foot rural shoulder consisting of a 2-foot paved surface and an 8-foot grassed surface. In addition, project lengths have been better defined since the original approximations provided in the original survey report. Construction limits for SR 61 extend approximately 818 feet south of the intersection and 958 feet north of the intersection, while the limits for Mulberry Rock Road and Ridge Road are 708 feet and 844 feet, respectively. The slight increases to three of the four legs, still fall within the limits of the original survey. In addition, construction near the terminus of each leg does not involve activities outside the existing right-of-way except for the need of a small construction easement near the terminus of Mulberry Rock Road (CR 215).
