Abstract

New South Associates conducted an archaeological assessment and intensive survey of the proposed Murray Project for East Tennessee Natural Gas Company (ETNG) from November to December 2000. The report summarizing the results of this survey was submitted to the Georgia and Tennessee State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs) on February 9, 2001 (see report Phase I Archaeological and Historic Architectural Survey of East Tennessee Natural Gas (ETNG) Company's Murray Project: Bedford, Franklin, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, Marshall, McMinn, Moore, and Sequatchie Counties, Tennessee, and Catoosa, Whitfield, and Murray Counties, Georgia - [New South Associates Technical Report 812 (Port et al. 2001)]. Minor changes to the initial project scope have occurred since the submittal of the above report. This supplemental report summarizes the results of the survey performed for a material yard that was not previously considered. Appendix A contains the Project Facilities Map that includes the additional area investigated here.
