Abstract

In August 1982, a cultural resource survey was conducted by the author on the proposed Gumlog Road in Union County, Georgia. A 4.16 mile corridor extending southeast from Gumlog Gap was investigated by field reconnaissance, including subsurface testing. Four prehistoric sites were found during field reconnaissance. Two will not be effected, due to distance from the road or prior disturbance. Two others are either in or closely adjacent to the roadway, and should be tested to determine if they fit 36 CFR 60 criteria for National Register nomination.
