A cultural resource survey was conducted by the author on the Pounding Mill Creek timber sale on December 27-29, 1982. The survey covered a total of 580 acres in Compartment 31, including proposed timber sale Stand Nos.

In August 1982, a cultural resource survey was conducted by the author on the proposed Gumlog Road in Union County, Georgia. A 4.16 mile corridor extending southeast from Gumlog Gap was investigated by field reconnaissance, including subsurface testing.

On October 20 and 21, 1982, the author conducted a cultural resource survey on 400 acres covering the 2.4 mile proposed Allison Ridge Road, and the adjoining land of a proposed timber sale. The survey area is located in White County, Georgia.

On December 13, 1982, the author conducted a cultural resource survey over a total of 185 acres which included the 2.3-mile length of the proposed Hunter Knob Road (FS 724) and Stand Nos. 1 and 2 of a proposed timber sale.

On December 13, 14 and 16, 1982, the author conducted cultural resource surveys on a total of 489 acres in Fannin County, Georgia.

On October 26, 1982, the author conducted a cultural resource survey on the proposed Upper Tibbs Trail (FS 78-E) in the Cohutta Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest in Murray County, Georgia.

On July 12-13, 1982, a cultural resource survey was conducted on the proposed Herring Exchange Tract in Towns County, Georgia. The field reconnaissance including subsurface testing on this 362-acre tract located one early 20th century house site, one prehistoric site and one large rock pile.

A cultural resource survey was conducted over a 2-mile length of proposed road FS 339 which extends from Noontootla Creek to Peter Knob in Fannin County, Georgia. Field reconnaissance which included subsurface testing located two aboriginal sites and one historic rock pile site.

On July 6-7, 1982, cultural resource surveys were conducted by the author on a total of 275 acres covering the Horse Point, Rome Point and the Loop Road Right-of-Way in Fannin County, Georgia.

Over a 12-day period, during the months May and June 1982, the author conducted cultural resource surveys on four proposed dams and a proposed dike system for the Big Cedar Creek Watershed Project for the Soil Conservation Service, Polk County, Georgia.
