Abstract

On October 26, 1982, the author conducted a cultural resource survey on the proposed Upper Tibbs Trail (FS 78-E) in the Cohutta Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest in Murray County, Georgia. Field investigations including pedestrian reconnaissance and subsurface testing were conducted over a staked centerline and 60-foot right-of-way of the 2.3 mile length of the proposed road. No archaeological sites were discovered. It is therefore recommended that this proposed road be cleared from ,impact to cultural resources.
