A cultural resources survey was conducted by the authors prior to a proposed land exchange involving 1245 acres of National Forest land in Oglethorpe County, in the Georgia Piedmont.

During a 5-day period from February 8-16, 1983, the author conducted cultural resource surveys on proposed roads and timber sale stands in Murray County, Georgia.

From July 1983 to September 1984, cultural resource surveys were conducted on a total of 2815 acres on the Oconee National Forest in Putnam County, Georgia. Field reconnaissance, which included limited subsurface testing, located a total of 26 prehistoric and 17 historic sites.

A cultural resource survey of the Little Rock Creek Road Extension in the Chestatee Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest was conducted on March 9, 1983.
