Abstract

The proposed project would consist of traffic signal upgrades at six (6) intersections within Lincoln and McDuffie Counties, Georgia (see attached Figures 1 A and 1B). The proposed project would improve the overall efficiency and safety of traffic flow due to upgraded traffic signal displays and state-of-the-art traffic signal control equipment, provide better signal coordination through new signal interconnection cable, and improve pedestrian safety with improved crosswalks, pedestrian signals and ADA compliant sidewalk ramps or landings where appropriate at six intersections. Because of the nature and scope of the undertaking, the APE would consist of the existing right-of-way, within which all construction and ground-disturbing activity would be confined, and would include all properties within the view shed of the proposed project. No potential for indirect effects outside of the existing right-of-way and view shed of the proposed intersection improvement locations exists.
