Abstract

The proposed project would reconstruct and realign the intersection of North Salem Road /Sigman Road and Old Covington Road (see attached Figure 1). These roadways would be realigned in order to improve the existing 41 degree skew angle to 61 degrees. Other improvements would include the addition of left and right turn lanes, the widening of roadway shoulders and corrections to the vertical alignment. The proposed improvements also include widening the through lane approaches on Old Covington Road from 10 feet to 12 feet. The required right-of-way would vary between 80 and 100 feet on North Salem Road. The required right-of-way would vary between 100 and 130 feet on Sigman Road. The required right-of-way would vary between 50 and 100 feet on Old Covington Road. The project limits along North Salem Road are approximately 500 feet in length. The project limits on Sigman Road are approximately 1,000 feet in length. The project limits on Old Covington Road are approximately 2,000 feet in length. The total project length is 3,500 feet.
