The proposed project is located along Glenwood Road in DeKaIb County from 620 feet east of Candler Road/SR 155 (MP 3.64) to Covington Highway/US 278/SR 12 (MP 7.62). The gross length of the project is approximately 3.98 miles, with 0.29 mile of exception at the 1-285 interchange project, for a net project length of 3.69 miles. The project consists of improving pedestrian access along Glenwood Road by adding new sidewalks or improving existing sidewalks along the corridor. Wheelchair ramps at driveways and intersections will be added; ramps will be ADA compliant to the maximum extent feasible. The proposed typical section will be an urban shoulder, including a 5 foot sidewalk. It is expected that a majority of the existing curb will remain in place. Retaining walls will also be used at a number of locations along the project length.
