The project area is in the western portion of Fannin County, approximately one mile northeast of the Gilmer/ Fannin County line along the northern side of Appalachian Highway (SR 515/US 76) and comprises approximately 0.95 acres. The ROW contains a raised hill in the western portion of the project area that rises approximately 100 feet above the Highway road grade. Stone yard Partners, LLC desires to build on land lots 44 and 45 in the 7th District, 2nd Section (See Figure 4, attached). The applicant intends to improve the DOT right-of-way by re-grading the hill to existing grade and filling the lower areas along the Highway to grade between 298+00 and 303+00 to provide visibility of Lots 44 and 45 from the Highway.
