Abstract

The proposed project would consist of replacing the bridge spanning Chickasawhatchee Creek along CR 121 in Baker County. The existing bridge is a 240' X 22' concrete structure, and will be replaced with a 240' X 28' concrete structure on new alignment just north of the existing bridge. CR 121 will be closed during construction utilizing an off-site detour. Existing right-of-way is 80 feet. Original plans required additional 20 feet of right-of-way on the south side of CR 121, and 55 feet on the north side. Current revisions call for a reduction of required right-of-way in the southwest quadrant east of the Musgrove residence and an additional 35 feet on the north side of CR 121. The project length is approximately 2400 feet. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted for the entire length of the project corridor. No existing or eligible National Register resources were located within the project's area of potential environmental effect. It is concluded, therefore, that the project will have no effect upon archaeological resources on or eligible for inclusion in the NRHP provided that the project conforms to that described above.
