Abstract

Archaeological investigations at the Crawford W. Long House in Danielsville, Georgia were undertaken to answer several architectural questions and provide additional data for the historical and architectural investigations. Test excavations revealed the possible edge of an early portico and a rock chimney base to a chimney stack that is no longer standing today. A survey of the immediate ground discovered a brick chimney pad that may represent the location of the original kitchen.
