Abstract

A Cultural Resource Survey was conducted on a 17-acre parcel near the Pocket Recreation Area, proposed for a land exchange with Ed Gravitt in the northernmost extension of Floyd County, Georgia, on March 11, 1982. An additional 3-acre area adjacent to but not part of the exchange was also examined at the same time. No significant cultural resources were found on the lowland area proposed for exchange. However, the site of a former church was found on adjacent private land, and a house and barn site was found on the National Forest land adjacent to the Pocket Cemetery.
