Abstract

The archaeological survey of approximately 1000 acres of land lying adjacent to the Little Tallapoosa River and Buck Creek in Carroll County, Georgia disclosed the presence of three small archaeological sites. This survey was conduced from April 14, 1984 to June 2, 1984 to determine the impact of proposed construction on the archaeological resources of the project area. The three archaeological sites that were recorded (Fig. 1) are small, upland lithic scatters. They are located on eroded upland areas that are over the floodplain of Buck Creek and the Little Tallapoosa River. This is a highly eroded area and it is my opinion that these sites are highly disturbed and are not eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
