Abstract

In February 2004, New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Paulding County Airport, a 750-acre tract located in central Paulding County. An additional 50 acres were surveyed by Edwards-Pitman Environmental in July of 2005. As a result of these studies, 30 new archaeological sites and 14 Isolated Finds were identified. Two of these sites are historic, the remainder are prehistoric lithic scatters. None of the sites are believed to meet the minimum standards for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places and no further archaeological study is recommended.
