Abstract

Project BRZLB-045(10) would re„pia e h Structurally deficient bridaP on CR 813 over Big Indian Creek in Carroll County. The proposed project on CR 81-y-would-begin approximately 478 meters (1568 feet) south and end approximately 244 meters (800 feet) north of the existing bridge structure over Big Indian Creek. The existing right-of-way on CR 813 is approximately 18 meters (60 feet), while the additional required right-of-way will be a maximum of approximately 30 meters (100 feet). An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed project description was conducted for the entire 722 meter (2368 foot) project corridor. An archaeological survey (Level II) was conducted in accordance with "GDOT/FHWA Cultural Resource Survey Guidelines" developed by the GDOT Staff Archaeologists in consultation with DNR Historic Preservation Section Staff and concurred in by the Federal Highway Administration and State Historic Preservation Officer. These guidelines provide general survey boundaries and methodological approaches to archaeological surveys based on the type/scope of proposed highway projects and are followed during the initial identification of archaeological resources.
