Abstract

The project was archeologically surveyed in early May of 2001. Visual inspection revealed that, typical of a busy four-laned road close to an intersection with an interstate highway (1-95), the terrain has been severely disturbed by construction of the roads, fast food restaurants, convenience stores, etc. It is highly unlikely that any archeological sites have survived this kind of disturbance. We conclude that no additional archeological studies are needed prior to reconstructing the median, improving the westbound turn radius onto Bourne Avenue and adding a traffic signal.
