Cultural Resource Survey of Dug Mountain, Walker County, Georgia

Abstract

On January 11-13, 1983, the author conducted a cultural resource survey on 722 acres in the Armuchee Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest in Walker County. Field reconnaissance including subsurface testing was conducted over the survey area. One site, consisting of stone military breastworks, were located in the project area. They were located along the ridge line just south of Dug Mountain, and are recommended for protection from adverse impact.
