Abstract

This cultural resources survey covers 259 acres in two parcels around the Amicalola Falls State Park in northwestern Dawson County, Georgia. The survey was conducted prior to a proposed land exchange involving two land lots on the east and west sides of the park. Additional National Forest land was surveyed at the same time. The land in both of these areas is extremely rugged, very rocky and covered with 30 to 60 year-old mixed hardwoods and pine. No significant cultural resources were found as a result of this survey. Therefore, cultural resources clearance for the Proposed exchange is recommended.
