Abstract

No evidence of prehistoric or historic archaeological remains was discovered during the survey or in the search of early maps. The collapsed remains of a flat-roofed shed were found in the southwest section of the tract near Bolling Road. Just west of the boundary in this same area, but outside the tract itself, is an old outdoor toilet. The collapsed shed and toilet appear to be of recent construction. The failure to discover evidence of archaeological remains during the field survey does not preclude the possibility that this area was utilized at some time in the past. However, the absence of surface evidence or of evidence in the subsurface tests, makes it unlikely that this utilization was extensive. The collapsed structure does not appear to be of historical importance. Therefore, no further archaeological or historical investigations are recommended for this property.
