9Lu(DOT)l is located on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' property on the north side of the Chestatee River and west of Long Branch Creek (Figure 1). The site, which covers approximately six acres, is situated on an old floodplain (T-1), some 100 to 150 feet north of the present course of the river. Recently, road and bridge construction across the Chestatee have bisected the site leaving about three-fourths of the site east of the bridge and one-fourth west of the bridge. Additional bridge construction is now being proposed for the area just west of the existing bridge. This construction would obviously impact that portion of the site located in this area. In concurrence with 36 CFR Part 800 and guidelines for making a "no adverse effect" determination, the following mitigation is being proposed.
