Abstract

An archeological resource survey was conducted between December 13-14., 1975 at the site of the proposed Blairsville power Substation site, Union County, Georgia. No remains of aboriginal cultural activities were detected during the course of these investigations, The Bla:i.rsville substation site was systematically investigated by a survey team employing standard archeological surface survey techniques in combination with a limited program of subsurface examination. The latter process entailed the removal of surface vegetation and excavation of mall portions of the constituent soil matrix to varying depths. None of the fifteen exploratory areas yielded aboriginal material cultural remains. On the basis of the above described archeological investigations, no additional work of this nature is recommended at the site of the proposed Blairsville power substation.
