The project area of the proposed Tallassee Shoals hydroelectric facility was surveyed for the purpose of identifying and assessing the significance of any sites located within the survey area. Two small prehistoric sites, neither of which were judged eligible for nomination to the National Register, were found within the survey area. The original dam and powerhouse complex is recommended to be eligible for nomination at the local level of significance.
