This project consists of the emergency repairs to the north side of the bridge (ID # 135-0068-0) over the Yellow River on Lawrenceville Suwanee Road. Significant scour had occurred along the north abutment wall under the bridge. Repairs included the partial removal of the approach slab, driving sheet piling, filling all voids under the approach slab and roadway, construction of a reinforced concrete curtain wall encasing all exposed H piles, and replacement of the approach slab. Rip rap was installed up to the new curtain wall to prevent future scour. All sidewalk and guardrail that was removed to gain access under the bridge was replaced. All work took place within the existing right-of-way and no new right-of-way was acquired. This work was completed in November 2009.
