Abstract

The proposed project would construct sidewalks and amenities along Hickory Road and Holly Springs Parkway in Holly Springs, Cherokee County, Georgia. The proposed project on Holly Springs Parkway would construct two-foot curb and gutter, five-foot grass strip, five-foot sidewalks, and a 3.5-foot grass strip behind sidewalks on both sides of the road from Childers Road to Crossroads Middle/High School campus. On Hickory Road, the same typical section would be constructed, but only on the north side of the road, beginning at Palm Street and ending at Hickory Springs Industrial Drive. The intersection of Hickory Road and Holly Springs Parkway is excluded from the project, as there are existing sidewalks that were recently constructed under another project. This project would tie sidewalks into these existing sections at the intersection. All sidewalks would be constructed in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). Additional improvements include pedestrian lighting and drainage improvements. The proposed project length is approximately 0.7 miles on Holly Springs Parkway, and approximately 0.4 miles on Hickory Road, for a total project length of 1.1 miles. There is no proposed additional right-of-way required for the project.
