Abstract

An archaeological survey of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park was conducted in the summer of 1975 under the terms of Contract No. CX 500050230 between the National Park Service and the University of Georgia. The purpose of the survey was (1) to locate and map as many archaeological features, both historic and prehistoric, as possible, and (2) to survey the park boundary in order to identify archaeological features which might be disturbed by fencing planned for some parts of the boundary. The survey was performed during an eight-week period beginning June 28, 1975, and extending through August 15, 1975. It was conducted under the supervision of Dr. David J. Hally, Principal Investigator. Anne F. Rogers and Wyman W. Trotti were Assistant Investigators, and Janet Morris served as Field Assistant.
