Abstract

A cultural resources survey at the site of proposed cabin construction and access road in Mistletoe State Park, Columbia County, Georgia, was conducted during the period of 6 to 7 February 1985 for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The project area consisted of approximately 550 m of access road and 1.7 ha for five proposed cabin sites. The survey identified four archeological sites. The sites are represented by one non-diagnostic prehistoric lithic site and three multicomponent sites containing both historic and prehistoric components. Three of the sites will be directly impacted by proposed construction. One site, 9Cb(SAS)4, lies outside of the project area and will not be impacted. One site, 9Cb(SAS)3, contains preserved early nineteenth century historic features and is the only site considered eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
