Abstract

Because of rapid suburban development in the area of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, additional sewer lines will be required to accommodate the need for sewage disposal. To meet this need, the Cobb County Water and Pollution Control System has proposed construction of a line which would parallel the north bank of John Ward Creek from the Westside Sewage Treatment Plant, located to the east of the park, to the previously constructed Noses Creek Interceptor 28B, located to the west of the park, and has requested that the National Park Service grant a right-of-way for the approximately 1075 meters (3500 feet) of line which would be within park boundaries.
