Abstract

The widening of US 301 through Claxton may affect two brick structures located just south of the S.C.L. tracks. The building on the east side of the highway is a two story brick business building erected in 1921. On the west side of the highway is another two story brick building erected in the later part of the 19th century. The historical significance of these buildings is uncertain, but should be taken into consideration. No other sites of archaeological or historical significance are endangered by the proposed construction.
