A survey to determine the cultural resources of the project was made by the Environmental Analysis Bureau's staff archaeologist. The project is entirely within an urban area. A small creek along Alternate I was examined with no archaeological evidence produced. Alternate I passes through an area of potential historic archaeological interest, but it has not yet been established if any intact archaeological evidence remains. In particular, if the Bostwich-Fraser House is impacted by Alternate I, some testing should be done as this structure dates to the 1840's and served as the site of a Civil War hospital.
