Phase II Cultural Resource Investigations At Site 9CN87 (Chase Tract), Clayton County

Report Number
6284
Year of Publication
1995
Abstract

Site 9CN87 demonstrates little potential to address important issues concerning occupation of the area during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Much of the ground surface has been removed and/or disturbed by use of heavy earth moving equipment. No intact structural features were present above or below the ground surface and limited architectural material (i.e., bricks, mortar) was observed. The artifact assemblage was extremely limited in size and its ability to provide interpretive data which would contribute to the current understanding of the historic use of the region. Therefore, 9CN87 is recommended ineligible for the NRHP. Proposed development in the area should be allowed to proceed without further management consideration of 9CN87.
