Abstract

A vast majority of the surface material was encountered on the west side of the creek, in the flood plain, approximately 100 yards north of the Nathan Dean Highway along the edge of a cultivated field. Just south of the sewage disposal plant, on the east side of Euharlee Creek, a possible mound is present. The southern portion of the mound-like structure was apparently destroyed by construction of the highway. The mound and the immediate surrounding area seems also to have been altered by borrowing for highway construction. The extent of disturbance to the site during construction of the sewage disposal plant is not known.
